Hello.. not a lot of you know me but, I was the most recent Trainer at Crown Haven..
And I want to tell some of my story, and give closure to my amazing students who I had to tell I was leaving for unknown reasons.. It’s long.. so buckle in.
I was a trainer there for about a month when I noticed a lot of.. sneaky, suspicious, and awful behavior around the barn. I had a meeting with The Owner (Bryce) and his girlfriend, (Amber) toward the beginning of July, where I wanted to read off word for word the bullet points I have listed below, of what I firsthand have seen.
Some of his responses are included.
(P.S. He talked aggressively, intimidated me, and basically threatened me the entire meeting. It is all documented on recording.)
• The condition of Copper’s eye was brought to attention by myself and a volunteer on May 27th. The vet wasn’t called out until the 23rd of June after it was so swollen and cloudy he couldn’t see out of it at all, and nearly collapsed in the arena, an entire month later, even though multiple people kept bringing this up. I fully understand that horses are like giant toddler’s, and are the most flawed when it comes to how they’re designed. They get hurt all the time, and it usually winds up being nothing, I’m a firm believer in that and the first to tell anyone that. But his eye wasn’t just affected by allergies, allergies don’t cause swelling to the point of closing, or blue film over the pupil. And from what I was told, the vet said Copper could now lose his eye, and this wouldn’t have happened had it been addressed sooner.
The Owner’s Response to this being pointed out? Word for word: “If they would like to actually do something about it, they can actually purchase that horse from me and take over his welfare, really it’s none of their business.”
Isn’t it Bryce’s job and responsibility to take care of his own animals? No? Okay.
• Ellie’s wither rub, and ill-fitting tack.
Ill-fitting tack is no different than walking around in shoes 3 sizes too small with rocks in them, and then being forced to juggle around cinderblocks, which is what an unbalanced new rider can feel like to a horse. Now imagine doing that with a sore on the backs of both feet. For hours.
That is what Ellie is going through with her wither rub and a saddle that collapses down on the wither, with a pad that doesn’t give her shark-fin spine the relief it needs.
Saddles are hard to fit. I’m not denying that, I’ve gone through two on Bella, but for any employee or tool to function properly (if you are going to view a living, breathing animal that way) they have to have the right materials, maintenence, and uniforms. Or else you risk behavioral problems, bucking, spine soreness, muscle tearing and injury, and overall refusing to cooperate. A comfortable horse makes an easy horse.
Who does Bryce blame for this? Everyone else.
• The 20% Rule, and using Ellie as an out.
It’s a general rule of thumb horses should ONLY carry about 20-25% of their body weight to be comfortable. Ellie is in her 30’s, easily. She’s obedient, easy to control, and has worked her entire life, carting people around. She, with the condition of her back and age, shouldn’t be carrying more than 150lbs, tack and rider total. It should almost be a requirement on trail ride registrations/horse rentals to list the weight of all riders to best pair them up with horses.
That being said, Ellie is easy, so easy that she’s used for most if not almost everything. Rentals, trail rides, etcetera. She is literally, being worked to death. I have seen a 6’0+ grown man over 240lbs RUN that horse. This has everything to do with Ellie not being in the right condition or age to carry a rider.
The Owner’s Responses:
“I will offer her to you for 2500 dollars and I will buy a new horse.”
“I am certified for carrying 44 pounds.”
“A horse has four legs and I have two.”
“This math, when you apply it to me, means I can not carry a bag of grain.”
“I don’t care about whatever kind of study you have out there. I’m not interested in the study, I’m interested in reality.”
These were some responses to that rule. Unbelievable? I agree. This is HIS reality. And I would love to see him walk on his hands and knees with grain on his back, up and down trails, through water, and over rocks.
• The front pasture not getting 24/7 Hay. Copper, Ellie, and Pagan expend more calories than they’re taking in. Copper and Ellie are seniors, and are WAY too skinny. The pasture they’re in does not have adequate enough grass in it to sustain the workload put on the three of them. I’ve had clients come in to sign paperwork, to ask me a question, or to tour the place, then back out on signing after they saw how skinny Copper and Ellie looked. I’ve heard horse rentals after they were done riding, volunteers, and boarders complain about the condition of those two.
They’re the first horses seen when people drive by Crown Haven, and the easiest fix is to give them 24/7 hay. There is NOT enough forage in that pasture.
• Horses stuck in the arena, fully tacked up, without water, for hours at a time, after being trail ridden or worked.
One situation sticks out to me most. A trail ride was done at 1:00pm. I went riding on the trails shortly after that. Then hung around the barn doing other things. I walk in at 6:30, and horses are still tacked up, standing there, and you both had left to go get dinner. Aside from the obvious possible injury in the odd event that a horse spooked or got caught up in that spot without supervision, they stood there for about 6 hours. Twice now I myself have untacked and put horses away that were there for 4 hours or more. This is an ongoing issue.
“Do you do trail rides?”
No.
“Then it’s none of your business.”
• Moldy Hay. Self explanatory. He feeds moldy hay to his horses.
I have had to fill BONE DRY water troughs and watch horses go without water all day on weekends when it’s the owner’s responsibility to take care of it, I have listened to a threat to shoot a horse after she kicked out, I have watched his bunnies slowly die off by being in the conditions they are in. I’ve seen the dead horses in the hole, uncovered, since I have been there. I’ve watched the horses get treated like old farm equipment instead of the animals he has the responsibility of taking care of. I have watched skinny malnourished horses still get used for trail rides up until their very last breath.
Because of all the reasons above, including the threat made to me (which at this time I won’t publicly disclose what was said,) I had to safely remove myself and my horses from this situation.
I sat Crown Haven on a pedestal as a prestigious equestrian facility, back in the day, as I rode there in 2015. It’s different now, dangerous, now and I no longer view it as the Haven the name implies.
That’s my story. And that’s why I left.
I’m so sick to my stomach that this is still happening. He did this to dusty as well. I’ve been saying this about Ellie Mae for years. Took pictures of how underweight she was and her wither sores in 2020. Been reporting them for years. I worked with her from 2014-2017ish, she was in great shape but even at that time only sound for light work because of back issues. At the time in 2020 when I took pictures of her, she was also being ridden everyday, ran really hard with people bouncing on her back and pulling on her mouth. And of course that sweet girl puts up with it. I’ve been reporting this for years hoping somebody would step in and save that poor girl. He’s such a disgusting human being. I’m so devastated nothings been done about this. He really deserves the worst.
Ellie wasn’t up there in 2014. She didn’t move up there until the summer of 2017. When she moved up there there was nothing at all wrong with her back at all. She was in perfect health. It wasn’t until Anne left that Ellie started getting mistreated. And just a side note, Ellie is 29 years old, not 30 yet. She looks like she’s 50 years old though.
yeah I got the dates wrong, I went back through pics and I got there around like late 2015. And then worked there like through 2018ish I think and helped out some with chores up through 2020. When you brought ellie mae & tj out and gave me permission to ride ellie, you and a few others had told me the vet said she wasn’t sound for hard work just walking trotting & barely light cantering. I don’t know the details because I never heard the vet speak on it himself. I was riding & spending time with her a lot but maybe only cantered her like a couple times ever, both times probably under a minute. I know of a few times that others had taken her out on trails during the time I was working there and she was ran pretty hard and I was blamed for it, and it was a big deal at the time because of her said back issues. I left some time after Anne got there. It wasnt long after I quit that I started hearing & then seeing posts online of ellie mae being ran pretty hard & her being worked while lame. I was still going out every once and a while to help with chores. Ellie mae was in terrible condition down the road and was still being leased out and ridden every day despite the condition she was in. I witnessed multiple other people, that are in these threads, try to stop ellie from being ridden during that time. Ellie looked so bad at the time, a group of us filed a report with the sheriffs department in June of 2020 after many of us begged them to take it easy on ellie mae. All of us that reported this only wanted the mistreatment to stop, because we knew bryce didn’t care at all about how anyone treated his animals. After the first time reporting this, we were told the same thing we were this time. That there isn’t sufficient enough evidence to take him down. And the first time around, the pics were bad enough & ellie was in pretty harsh shape for nothing to be done about it. They blew the situation over, myself and others were supposedly “banned” from the property. now a couple more years have passed, and the same type of mistreatment has spread to the other horses in his care, not only ellie and dusty. Now everyone reporting it again with even more pictures & videos showing how far he’s taken all this, and still not had any repercussions for it. And yet there’s still not “sufficient enough evidence”. Either the laws are really just way too lenient, or something more has to be going on behind the scenes with Bryce and the police. We also all know how manipulative & narcissistic he is. I hope some of the boarders press charges privately. It’s just so sad that it’s been let go this far. I’m so devastated for all the animals in his care that have been let down time & time again.
Do you know what the status of Crown Haven is now? I thought they forced them to close but I drive by there today and they look like they’re reopened !!
They reopened and are still using the same horses for trail rides and horse rentals that they promised were going to be retired. That’s why it’s so important that everyone continues to spread the word about how sick and disgusting this place is. Carriage ride season is coming up and people need to know how mistreated their carriage horses are! Unfortunately animal control and the sheriff’s dept can’t legally shut them down so it’s up to all of us to refuse to support this place. They’re so apathetic that they are still using old photos in their Facebook ads that have the horses they abused and killed in them. Of course they’ve blocked any haters and removed all negative comments from their page so none of their current followers know their real history. The sad fact is that Crown Haven will continue with their abuse of animals until our community refuses to support them with our money. 🙁

That makes me sick!! I am going to make it my mission to spread the word and see what else can be done. I am retired now so I have plenty of time! Please let me know if you have any suggestions for me.
Please please please message me on Fb if you have any insight that can help me. I will pursue this until something is done!
Does anyone know if this place has improved? I see it’s back open
I can honestly say I have not seen anything like this from the owners. All of these animals are well treated and cared for. Much of the complaints I have only seen have been from disgruntled ex employees and an old neighbor who was unhappy over a childhood grudge against the owner. All of these animals are well fed and well maintained and they often chose animals that have been rescued and have rehabilitated them. The owners are very kind reasonable people.
Abuse & neglect of all animals. Malnourished animals. Hay is disgusting. Troughs are always dirty. Doesn’t care about animals well being, just sees them as money. The owner bryce shoots his animals after starving them and throws them in his creek like they’re trash. Some of these pics I took, others are from friends and crown havens website.
Throwing dead animals in a creek should also be reported to local authorities as a serious environmental issue.
Report it to a conservation officer. They have more jurisdiction and authority than sheriff and police
Do you know what the status of Crown Haven is now? I thought they forced them to close but I drive by there today and they look like they’re reopened !!
I used to board my horses @ Crown Haven. I was constantly lied to by the owner Bryce Barnes. I paid for full care board which was supposed to include proper feed, water and turnout. Countless times, my horses were out of water, were not fed, and they were standing in days of dirty bedding. WHEN their stalls were cleaned. Bryce would pile up the “urine soaked moldy” hay in a pile for my horses to finish eating. I would have to clear out the dirty hay and get clean food for them, I also bought my own food to supplement them so that they got the proper nutrition. I bought my own bedding and cleaned my stalls numerous times so that they had a clean stall to stand in. NUMEROUS TIMES, I watered THE ENTIRE BARN BECAUSE ALL THE HORSES WERE OUT OF WATER. At one time, I asked one of the volunteers were Bryce and his girlfriend were so that I could speak with them about the condition of my stalls and the lack of feeding and watering and I was told that they were tired and were sleeping.
The poor bunnies were in a filthy stall, and in the hot weather, Bryce turned off the fan and the bunnies were left in a hot unventilated stall, Many of them died. He hardly ever fed them.
I saw the condition of the “trail horses” and they are skinny and malnourished, He does not take care of their feet, or veterinary needs. He leaves the horses tied up all day waiting for riders to come out and ride. He does not give them food or water while they are tied up.
I have witnessed how some of the rental riders ride the horses, and they are unsupervised and abusive to the horses. They ride the horses hard and pull on their mouths,.
I have witnessed the Pit where the horses have been shot and discarded, I know for a fact that one of the previous boarders paid Bryce and Amber for a “proper burial” for their horse Indiana Rose. She was shot and dropped in a pit along with another horse and left to rot.
This man is a despicable man and should not be allowed to own animals, let alone influence young children in the community.
I was also a boarder a year ago and wittnessed the same abuse. My horses where not fed and not watered also. The stalls OMG I had two stalls. I filled a full size poop cart that was pulled behind a tractor and loaded it full. I had changed the bedding because Bryce would not bed my horses stall even though I was paying for full service boarding I did buy my own supplements and grain feed to my horses and hay pellets that he didn’t feed. My horses feed never went down . They didn’t have water ever when I got there and my one gelding was going crazy. The other older gelding lost so much weight that after a month there I left. I was also told by the shoer to not stay that Bryce had no clue what he was doing. I also witnessed a small house lose its eye due to the lack of give a shit by Bryce. He left or hid everytime i was there to speak with him. Coward!!!! He knows what he’s doing and doesn’t care at all. His words!! I will just buy more. So please what ever you do don’t take your horse or your kids there. If you love animals at all you will stop this man from operating.
I took my niece there a couple weeks ago and was honestly appalled by the experience we were given. We booked a trail ride. First it took us over ten minutes to even find who was helping us. I know nothing about horses but the treatment we as clients were given for a trail ride was awful. He was so condescending, led us on the trails a loud & gas smelling ATV on our “serene” ride as him and his girlfriend snuggled up on theATV and we had to stare at her being on her phone the entire time while riding behind him on the ATV. They also started the ride by just putting us on horses alone in the arena for 10-15 min to “get comfortable” with the horses by walking circles in there. We were completely ALONE on the horses while him and his girlfriend legitimately disappeared with no notice. They were gone for at least 10 full minutes as we were so confused as to what was going on. We were shocked as we had never even ridden horses before! Needless to say – the experience was not a good one as a customer and left a bad taste in my mouth – and I’m sadly not surprised reading this about how he treats his animals. Just saddened to hear that this is their reality. I hope he loses the business and another responsible owner steps in and takes good care of these beautiful animals.
My horse was at Crown Haven Center for 6+ years. I was one of the first boarders at Crown Haven in late 2015 and I just recently moved to a different barn in August of 2022. Why did I stay so long if it was so bad you ask? The answer is not simple! In the beginning I believe it WAS a really nice place. The barn was clean, the pastures had nice green grass and the horses seemed happy and well taken care of. Then sometime in 2018 that changed and the barn quickly and steadily went downhill from there. My horse lost a huge amount of weight, his coat was dull and patchy, and he was overall just withdrawn and depressed. That should have made me move him to a different barn, but here’s the thing – there really aren’t a lot of boarding stables around this area to move to! So instead I started supplementing my horse’s feed and going out to check on him every single day. Only then did I realize that the horses and small animals at Crown Haven regularly go without water, hay and basic care.
The stall that the owner of Crown Haven keeps the rabbits in was right across from my horse’s stall so I started noticing how often they weren’t given any food or water for sometimes days at a time. I started buying rabbit food and would feed them every night while I was there. At one point I sat back and waited to see how long it would take the owner to buy rabbit feed. I think I’m still waiting. Not only that, but he keeps the male and female rabbits together so they are multiplying all the time. He won’t separate them, I think because he wants baby bunnies for the kids to hold at pony birthday parties. Also, because they are left in the stall, the males regularly kill the newborn bunnies. I can’t tell you how many dead baby bunnies I’ve removed from that stall over the years.
After feeding the rabbits for a while, I started noticing the same thing was going on with the goats, the cats, the chickens – and any other small animal that he allows people to drop off at Crown Haven. Poor souls probably think they’re giving their unwanted animals to the best place on earth but the truth is he never gave your animal a second thought let alone food and water. By 2020 I was buying feed to supplement my horse, as well as feed for his rabbits, goats, cats and chickens and had to make sure they were fed every night. Even that was a struggle because he apparently didn’t want the goats to be fed properly. He put a sign up on their enclosure that reads NO HAY – don’t feed goats hay or you’ll be fined $50. Does it matter that hay is an essential part of a goat’s diet, especially when there is no grass to graze on? Apparently not. I played by his rules for a couple of months and didn’t give hay, until one of the goats, Harley, bloated one day. I knew there was something terribly wrong with him because he wouldn’t stand up, and there happened to be a vet tech visiting the barn at the time. I had her look at Harley and she confirmed that he needed to see a vet immediately. She told Bryce that Harley was bloating and needed a vet asap, and his response was “Oh no. Does he have worms?!” as he continued to walk past us. Harley died less than 48 hours later, with no vet care, and was thrown in the pit. So after that I had to SNEAK AROUND TO FEED HIS ANIMALS so that the remaining two goats wouldn’t die. I felt like if I left Crown Haven all of these small animals would suffer without someone to look after them, so I stayed.
Fast forward to 2022 when things at Crown Haven went from bad to House of Horrors. 2022 is the year that the owner and his girlfriend decided that shooting horses that have outlived their usefulness to them instead of calling a vet, and/or leaving dead unburied horses out in a field was perfectly acceptable. In the last few years I’ve seen more death at Crown Haven Center than I’ve seen my entire life. I also finally realized that by feeding all of his other animals I was enabling the whole situation to go on without end and I was basically helping him hide the fact that he neglects all of the animals in his care. I moved my horse to a different barn but I worry every day about those small animals. How crazy is that? I feel like I’ve abandoned a bunch of animals that aren’t even my own.
To make this long story short: I DO NOT recommend Crown Haven Center.
Did he have any cameras or any type of security at the place
There are cameras everywhere inside the barn. Not sure about outside.
They do not work if u notice all the spider webs in front of cameras if they works you wouldn’t be able to see what was happening.
They probably don’t work, you’re right. He used to have cameras up to “scare” people into “behaving” how he wanted, but they wouldn’t be operating.
BOLO
I started volunteering at Crown Haven spring of 2015. Started with doing yard work and finally ended up doing turn-in and evening feeding 3x week. I would get the boarded horses and take them to their stalls and check hay, water, and portion out any grain or supplements that the owners specified. I would also stay late on Fridays to help with the pony rides. At the time, Dusty was being used. I tried to encourage the children to ride on their own but sometimes the parents would ride with their 6/7/8yo child. I always worried about Dusty’s health. Bryce said he was fine. One of the gals I worked with at the time had pointed out that his sheath hadn’t been cleaned and Bryce said that if she wanted to do it, go ahead but it wasn’t anything he needed to do. As time went on, Dusty started to develop sores and was bleeding. I volunteered at Crown Haven for a year and a half. I would ask Bryce if I could actually be hired and work for him and help him. He would continuously say when the money came available, he’d hire me. After that year and a half I confronted him about it, stating that others had been hired but not me. I knew I didn’t have the knowledge to compare to the others, but I was being lead on. He told me that if I gave up caffeine, went to the gym and got fit he would concider hiring me. He claimed I was an injury risk and that I needed to be more fit to be hired.
I quit that day.
A short time before I quit, we had one of the worst days for tornadoes (11 in 8h). Bryce’s wife was out at class and wasn’t able to get to the barn to get the outside horses inside. She asked me to do it. So my husband and I drove across town between the storms to put the horses away. I got a call from my parents who had my daughter and they were being moved because they got hit by a tornado. I finished as much as I could and told Bryce I had to go get my daughter. He said he’d get the last 4 horses. I messaged his wife later asking if everyone made it inside and she told me that 3h after I left she got home and had to put the rest in the barn.
Bryce once told me he only has the boarding facilities because it was what his wife wanted to do. He only cares about his gun business, and photography.
I started volunteering at Crownhaven in January 2022 to assist with pony rides. I forgot how much I loved horses so I quickly realized I needed one of my own. At the time he was using ellie in the pony previously reference that lost his eye. Eli was super skinny and in desperate need of good feed.
I least a horse from another boarder for a while and started supplementing feed like everyone else. I then brought three others that I bought here for a while. I had to supplement feed for all of them, and bought my own hay as well because of all the mold that Bryce said was perfectly normal in hay. Most of the time you’re lucky if the hay was cow quality.
I was constantly watering horses during the summer. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times there was no water for pastures. When confronted on it he would say it was his volunteers fault. Forgetting he is the one that is supposed to be training these people and ensuring they’re doing it properly. I also started supplementing many other horses and helping other owners to make sure their horses were fed. I finally couldn’t take it anymore and left. I took my three horses but continued coming back to feed the gelding I had leased previously.
When I finally stopped that because I couldn’t take it anymore things went downhill for him very quickly. Pictures from below are earlier this year before I helped find him a new owner. If we would not have gotten him out there’s no doubt he would’ve been in the hole with the rest of the horses dead because he could barely stand to make a trip to go to his new home only 3 hours away. The trailer had to stop two or three times to allow him to rest because he kept falling from being so weak.
Photos of him from January 25,2022 of him looking sad. Last photo of him is from 2020. Also photo of commonly found empty water troughs during summer heat.
Correction volunteered in January 2020!!
I was supposed to board my horse there for two months and ended up pulling her in less than a week. I first hand saw malnourished horses. Also the man working weekends told me he specifically told as not allowed to feed certain horses and that they were being starved to death. He said the draft horses were being starved as well as a sorrel horse that was in a stall across from my horse. They were skin and bones. I took my horse away from there quickly and lost $1,000.
And just look at the amounts of poop in that stall ….and they are cleaned daily? 😫😫
And just look at the amounts of poop in that stall ….and they are cleaned daily? 😫😫
Clearly if you take time to look at this horse you can tell that this stall has been like this for some time look at the bottom of the belly of the horse that’s dried poop that’s been there for quite some time that poop will start eating his his skin not only that Look at the ribs
The horse’s name was Leroy. He wasn’t allowed any feed, it was written on the whiteboard that nobody was allowed in his stall (so his stall was never cleaned), and the humane society was called multiple times regarding him. Each time they came out, Bryce defended the horse claiming he was a “rescue” and sent the humane society officials on their way. It was wrong in SO many ways. Eventually, his owner pulled him from the facility.
I also had 2 horses there under full board. It means feed, clean stalls, provides bedding in those stall, quality hay, clean water, and turn out every day.
None of these happened! We had to buy bedding, our own hay, clean the stalls on Friday Saturday and Sunday.
We had to water daily and sanitize the watering troughs if you didn’t do it yourself it was never done. Their water looked like a mossy swamp. After I would clean it they drank like they were dehydrated. Horses need clean water so they would hydrate like they should. Only out of desperation they will drink stagnant water.
We were paying $800.00 a month for them to take great care of our 2 horses. We ended up buying bedding and hay ourselves another $200.00 a month out of pocket so our horse would be taking care of. The fences were constantly broke and not fixed. On several occasions horses have gotten loose and into the highway. One ran in a front of a school bus of children witch could of ended up horribly. Bryce did not show any emotion to the safety of the children or his own horses. He simply didn’t care.
After we removed our horses we blocked him from taking anymore money out of our account my bank account was charged stable fees. Not just one time but twice. The owner changed the name of the company to get his money from my account. I went to the bank and had it revoked. The bank said this was very illegal. Horrible animal owner and business owner.
Crown Haven website says they are indefinitely closed but he’s trying to get more clients in the meantime.
Please share to anyone and everyone. Crown Haven in Russiaville, Indiana should never be allowed to have animals!!!
I am trying to get as may people as possible to join with me to get rid of him! Please message me on Fb if you are willing to help. I just need testimonials to put together. Please.
One more thing I must add. Crown Haven has lost about 20 horses from many, many boarders in the last 10 days. This is not one persons point of view. It’s about 20 first hand boarders, volunteers and employees. He might say one or two people are trying to make him look bad. The truth is as you read the reviews many people for many years had the same experience.
Same happened to us. Our horse had choke so we always spend our own money on all feed and hay cubes and supplements. Which would come up missing often. We went out everyday so our horse was cared for even though we still paid for a stall. The help was told to only clean stalls of those who came out daily. Kids were running around, teen girls would stay days on end over night. This behavior is weird and he would let those teens mistreat the borders and the horses. I got on Bryce several times about those kids and nothing was done. We removed our horse and brought him home to live out the rest of his days. We had just moved to where we could have him on our own property. The guy has a past and if most knew what it was you never would have visited or boarded. Once we found out we left in a hurry.
I met this man one time. Right after he bought the place (2015?). He seemed off to me and I knew immediately he had no horse experience. Sounds like my Intuition was dead on.
I am making it my mission to get something done about him! Please message me if you would be willing to help. I just need testimonials to put together right now. Please.
Are you still wanting testimony against crown?
I drove past highland park this afternoon and saw him doing the carriage ride. A heavier cart, and it look like Dolly. If its the same horse that was at Breezy Lane about 3 years ago. Shes gone into hell
All draft horses of his are like that. Bad feet, poor body condition. He feeds them during the Fall/Winter some (gearing up for the carriage rides and making them look good) but as soon as Spring hits, they go right back to not getting the food they need until the next carriage season. Drafts need much more food than 2-4qts a day (if they even get that) during their off season. I remember a draft horse back in 2021 who was shot in the head simply for not having the energy (super thin and again bad hooves) to stand up. I think her name was Duchess but I can’t remember. For their current draft horses, the dark one (I think his name is Onyx?), looks like he’s developing DSLD in his hind fetlocks which is a very painful condition. Simply an observation – I’m not a veterinarian. Poor guy. I’ve attached a picture (marked out the people standing next to the horses to protect their identities). Please see the horse’s hind right hoof (furthest one on the other side of the picture) and look at the angle of the hoof. Hooves shouldn’t have that much of a “break” in the angle/position as his does. His looks like the fetlock’s dropping (super painful condition).
Please tell me someone is doing something to get this investigated through proper channels !
I know local police depts and several animal rights agencies have been contacted.
I AM TRYING!!!
Right now I’m trying to get multiple testimonials together!
I’ve contacted fox 59. Please flood them with comments. Maybe it will get aired
Air time on a television station would be good.
Who did you speak to a 59? I’ll be happy to provide them with a statement.
I was there in 2015, had to move my horse to another barn due to these very issues.
I also was feeding, watering , giving hay (when there was any) to my horse and others.
The man is a latent psychopath.
Please message me! I’m trying to get something done!!!!
Like as many others have stated, Crown Haven is one of the worst places imaginable to send a horse. Broken, dilapidated fences, a barn owner who only has time to work on his truck and play with his guns, and horses running free without a second thought or care are only some of his concerns. There was blood soaked and caked into the wall of the indoor arena from a “scope” gone wrong on a horse. Blood splatters. It’s sickening. Every single one of the facility’s horses are starved, emaciated, and worked until their very last breath until they are shot and thrown in a ditch like twigs in a fire. Four horses dead in a ditch, especially when the bay horse pictured was promised a “Proper Burial” by its owner, is beyond criminal. There is a picture of the horse thrown in the ditch and left, but I didn’t attach it as it’s too graphic for younger viewers. The pictures attached, however, are of when the owner first got the horse and what he let the horse become in a total of about 8-10mths in his care. This is one of the carriage horses he uses at Noblesville, too, to do carriage rides with during the Holidays. It’s sickening.
Last I heard, not a single original boarder is still at the facility and their board was close to full when they all left. Let that sink in before opting for this disastrous place. It’s definitely not a “Haven.”
Here’s the same horse when the owner first got him:
This was me in that photo, I remember when I was with that horse he just looked so sad and the more I saw him he looked even more sad
We boarded a horse there for a few months. Paid for full board. Many many times we went out our horse hadn’t been fed or turned out or given fresh water. We had to clean our own stall. Horribly ran place. He relied on volunteers because nobody would stay and work for him because he wouldn’t pay them. Doesn’t care about his customers, their horses, or his horses.
I worked here in 2016 when Crown Haven still had a chance. When I was hired, there were 4 horses being boarded and 2 on pasture board. During my time “in charge”, the barn was mostly full. Within 2 weeks of me leaving, 90% of the boarders left too. This is due to the fact that Bryce absolutely CANNOT be trusted to care for the horses. He talks a big talk and makes promises he has no intentions of keeping. He made it hard to do my job well – keeping minimal hay available and locking shavings away so I was unable to bed stalls after cleaning them. All of the boarders who knew anything about horses would come every single night to be sure their horse was fed and brought in when I wasn’t there. On more than one occasion, a single horse would be left outside overnight, sweaty and pacing, because Bryce and his equally inexperienced girlfriend “couldn’t catch it” the night before. I’ve seen him setting off fire crackers and shooting guns entirely too close to the horses. Fortunately, I got out of there before things got completely out of hand and never witnessed the uncovered grave of rotting horses. I am disgusted and just hope this facility ends up in the hands of a competent human who knows how to run an equine business.
I began at Crownhaven in 2015 just as Mr. Barnes had recently opened up his facility. I was referred by a mutual acquaintance that he was looking for a trainer and lesson instructor to start as soon as possible. At first I was really excited, just recently moving back home and training a couple students at another near by facility. I remember visiting the property back in 2002 when it was I believe called Good Hope. I remember it being a beautiful and picturesque barn in that time so again super excited to return.
Upon arrival I met with Mr Barnes, he seemed like an energetic, orderly, engineer type but definitely didn’t strike me as a horse person. The more I spoke with him about lesson arrangements it didn’t take me long to confirm he knew practically nothing about horses let alone how to operate or manage an equestrian facility of this caliber he was describing. Never the less I slowly began operating with a handful of students which quickly led to an amount of riders far greater than I or this sweet old lesson pony Dusty could handle. In the beginning Bryce and I had an agreement on a fair split of profits from lessons. This was based on using his facility, horse, and equipment. Now with the sudden increase of riders I was now trailering in lesson horses and using my equipment. This was all fine but the more I gave the more he took. Communication significantly decreased and suddenly I was getting texts and calls from irritated customers which had lessons scheduled but I knew nothing about. People were coming to me with gift certificates that were paid to Bryce but I would never be compensated for. We had several discussions over these issues but not once could I get an resolve. Now with him irritated he decides to bring in another trainer for younger beginner riders. This began as a relief but again gradually still little to no communication I was facing scheduled lessons but either no arena or half. Still he thought his original price agreement would stand… sorry but no… The only thing I can say I’m thankful for through that place are the lasting friendships, families, and students I’ve met.
I would say I was on the CH property 4-5 days a week, each day seeing huge holes in proper horse care and over all maintenance. It didn’t take long before the first CH horse death would occur. This first incident was blamed upon lack of water and colic. I know their were several good hands and farm help throughout the years but when you are a “volunteer” or free labor how long will you actually stay? Moving on to the next fatality… My good friends mare, no, this was no fault of anyone. Only a freak accident but still hearing Bryce’s cold callas remarks were infuriating. He didn’t morn any loss for her or feel sorry, no he was literally upset he had lost “board” on that horse. Next, horse #3 that I know of belonged to yet another “girlfriend” and trainer. Her 30 year old arab was turned out with a pasture full of bullies who beat up on and ran him off of his food. The gelding was brought inside to be “doctored??” And fed separately. He continued to decline and I received a call that he wasn’t doing well. I guess his owner was gone all day and couldn’t be there. So I sat with him where what is now or was the goat pen as he took his last breaths. After this I wasn’t able to track or know who was dying as his new girlfriend ran all the trainers out of CH so she could have full authority. All well and good really, I would miss the indoor for lessons on days of inclement weather but really the relief of barn drama was worth it.
To my knowledge death #4 was a young horse that current CH help thought would be a good idea to turn him out at night in the field closest to the road with unfamiliar horses. This gelding ran through the fence and was struck by a vehicle and killed in the neighbors front yard. Again proving NO knowledge or proper management of a horse property. Many of these situations could have been avoided. Somewhere in all of this Dusty the old lesson pony went under the radar and passed away, most likely to old age but definitely over used and undervalued.
A couple years passed I heard nothing of CH as I was busy teaching at my home barn. I had hoped through the years MAYBE Mr Barnes had gained some knowledge, care, OR experience in horse care… but ya that was a big NO. However as luck would have it I would be forced back into the CH scene. Definitely not my first choice but Bryce was good enough to open up a paddock for my gelding and allow me to do SELF CARE. This is the ONLY way in my opinion a horse had any fair chance to be ok at CH. I came out 2or 3 times a day to feed, water, and look after my guy. I stayed to myself but always watched the utter mess and distinction of crown. Horses starving, shit moldy dusty bales of twigs. The pastures were always bare and the lots with trees had been skinned of their bark. Tanks 3/4 days a week were left bone dry or near empty on 90+ degree heat. Trail horses tied in the indoor area all day, I’ll fitted tack no food or water for hours awaiting the next ride. Katie who was still incredibly thin from winter carriage rides, old, lame, clear DSLD of the suspensory ligaments which is extremely painful degenerative condition. She stood without rest or resource to make her comfortable. All for the sake of the almighty dollar. Out of all of this, her cold hearted execution has me the most outraged. Also checking her and Tobys tank which was frequently empty I noticed her eye was the size of golf ball swollen and oozing. I noted this to Bryce which assured he had the vet looking into it. Again he thought smoozing his way out of it was going to work. I continued to care for her eye as I could with antibiotics as it was clear no vet was ever contacted.
Next while still boarding I’m headed to care for my horse and I see Chester the Belgian gelding who had suffered a back injury while being trailered by Bryce. The horse was being monitored and cared for by volunteers… Bryce was no where to be found. The horse sustained his injury the night before then left to lay by the front drive of CH. I had been in contact with Bryce multiple times that day suggesting we lift him with equipment as to get blood back flowing to his legs. Any animal of that size or mass who has been down for that time period will not have use of their legs as they are numb. If action was taken at the time of the incident things might have had a different outcome. Or even perhaps having some horse sense and care could have prevented the accident from even occurring. It wasn’t till that night, the poor animal was finally put out of his misery and dumped in the heartless pit.
It was very soon after that I was able to move my gelding out of CH for good. Both my husband and I became weary of seeing the beautiful Percheron gelding Onyx go from impressive to skin and bones. Every night was the same as he and eventually another draft were left to forage on dirt and what little tidbits of green that were left. We even began to use our own hay to feed them each night. Yes our own hay because again horses can’t thrive on moldy twigs for hay.
My last encounter with horses from CH were Ellie and another Belgian cross mare at the Miami county 4h fair. Bryce is the owner yes and is terrible for not caring for his horses properly but SHAME on the family for leasing them and a big SHAME on whoever is running that crazy operation and allowing those horses to compete. That’s a whole other matter but if I’m correct isn’t the Purdue extension office responsible too for vetting and checking a horse’s health??? The whole body score chart went out the window as obviously both horses were a 3 or lower.
Moving on I’m beyond thankful to be rid of that place I wish this was dealt with along time ago. Someone with absolutely no horse experience should never be allowed to operate or facilitate this property. I don’t know how many countless times both myself and other people had advised him that if he really wants to have a good horse boarding facility which KOKOMO is in dire need of then he needs to take things more seriously quit doing all of this other side activities and focus on what matters most. Or get someone in there that can run and manage it and don’t pay them in scraps. All for the benefit of exploiting animals and gaining money. Utterly shameful….
Katie condition and all empty tanks on property
Bone dry
From the 5 you described prior to Katie, that equals 9 deaths on Crown Haven’s soil up to the time of when google claims CH is “permanently closed.” 9 deaths are too many.
I leased Ellie Mae from May-October of 2020. I stopped coming to the barn at the start of August and did not finish my lease out.
When I first started my lease, I was new to riding. I did not completely know what I was doing but I was willing to learn. One of my close friends that was a long time boarder there would give me tips and each day I rode I would work on my seat and my post, etc. I would typically ride for 45 minutes-1 hr for a few days a week.
A month or so into my lease, I started to see the harsh reality of the animals and Ellie Mae at this barn. I also started volunteering, as Bryce would not pay me and the horses and other animals would not get proper food and water. Many times I would come to the barn to ride Ellie and he would have already used her for 4 trail rides that day and did not tell me. She constantly had a sore on her withers that I bought ointment for and would put on nightly when I did her care. I mentioned that Ellie needed some better fitting tack and he said the tack he had would work for all of the horses. This became a recurring thing and that’s why I didn’t even finish out my lease.
On top of that, Ellie was extremely skinny. Bryce wouldn’t spend his money to buy the feed or supplements she needed. I went to Rural King every week and bought the sweet feed, treats, or ointment she needed. Overtime she began to gain weight and muscle and I felt that things would get better.
That was only the start though.
When summer came around in June, the popularity of trail rides increased and once again Ellie was being overused. Because I was leasing her, I was originally told that she would hardly be used outside of my lease. This was so that she would not be overworked. Again, she was being used for 3-4 trail rides a day plus pony rides. I had a conversation with Bryce about not using her so often but he did not listen. I even offered to buy her from him, but he said he would only give her up if I bought him a new horse.
In my lease agreement, it stated that he was still the one responsible for her care but he never seemed to make any time for her. I loved Ellie and I wish I could’ve saved her while I was there.
The cherry on top of everything else that was going on was Bryce taking advantage of my kindness. There would be days where I came to ride and he would ask me to tack up horses for a trail ride. I’d do that and bring the horses into the arena and Bryce was nowhere to be found. When he finally showed up and did the trail ride, he would bring the horses back into the arena and told me to tie them up in the arena so that he could put them up. They would sit there for hours with no water until another volunteer and I decided to put them away. Only then would we find out Bryce had another trail ride scheduled.
Bryce was happy with me because I volunteered all the time and was able to do his work for him. He would be overly nice and later in the summer, it even got to the point where he would ask me to hangout with him in the evenings or go out. As soon as I turned him down, he was no longer nice to me. I was only a 20 year old woman at the time.
If you’ve never been to Crown Haven, don’t go. And if you have been, I’m truly sorry for any emotional scars or broken hearts you may have from this place.
Let’s do all we can to save the horses and animals that are left there and get this barn shut down.
Has anyone here or on the Facebook pages with Crown Haven information been contacted or asked to provide information or interviewed by ANY agency or department?
My experience volunteering there and keeping in mind someone with very little knowledge about horses. Training was lacking, you learned from other volunteers already there. Pony ride night the horses would be fully tacked and tied up in the arena with no food or water. After each ride the horses were given carrots or treats if there were any available and most of the time there weren’t. The amount of time for this was about 3 hours every Friday. I watched as Copper went down and almost as if he was jolted awake he stood right back up. Ellie had saddle sore or wither rot and was not used for one week after that she was used for rides even though she hadn’t healed. Copper had a problem with his eye and it took too many attempts to get the owner to call the vet to come check him out. Each of the horses’ hooves were also overgrown and one of the horse’s hooves were even cracked.
Volunteers were responsible for getting the bunnies for the “petting zoo” part and they were kept in a stall that was lacking food and water and not kept clean. Even when dead baby bunnies were found in one of the totes, it was just throw them away, add new bedding, and continue on.
Carriage rides at Highland Park and Noblesville meant that horses would be tacked, loaded into the trailer for transport. Once there they were unloaded and hooked up to the carriages again there was no food or water. The amount of time the horses would be without food or water was anywhere from 9-12 hours. The only food was carrots or treats that were given after each round through the route. Even on one night when one of the draft horses decided to take off neither the owner nor the girlfriend had even noticed.
I started to volunteer at Ch in the very end of 2017 beginning of 2018. I left at the beginning of 2019ish. When I started I knew nothing about horses but needed hours for my class and I wanted to work with horses and learn to ride. When I started there I was under the impression I would be hired in a few months after I gained knowledge on the horses. I was out at CH almost every night of the week after school doing barn chores helping out with lessons and learning myself. After I got the hang of things I start doing barn chores all by my self and is when I started pushing to be paid since I wasn’t no longer being paid with lesson unless it was a group ride with the other volunteers. He just kept telling me he would hire my at 16 due to legal reasons once I turned 16 it was a whole different story so i found another barn that paid me ontop of the fast food job i had with volunteering at CH. I was there when Bryce first started carriage rides and Katie was his horse he got with the carriage Katie came with a foal. They just had winged the foal a few days before carriage rides. Katie needed weight bad before she started pulling a carriage. Bryce made Katie pull the whole night’s no food or water 7 days a week without a break until the season was over. Following the trainers orders and not Bryce I always gave her extra grain to help try and put weight on her. I felt very bad that season because how much he worked her i remember the nights going through highland park she struggled pulling the carriage up the hill at the last part. I told him she was exhausted and need to be taken home and he just said she has more rides to give. It always broke my heart and I asked my parents to pick me up early on some nights due to how he treated her. The trainer that was there when I was there really cared about the horses and tried to properly take care of them and make sure they did get taken care of. During the pony rides dusty was still there and he allowed adults on this pony knowing he was over 30yrs of age. He should of had more than 25ish pounds on him with his shape. Bryce was also leasing out horses for couple hour rides for people to enjoy. Most of these people didn’t have knowledge of horses at all. They were shown stop go left and right then left alone. One summer day I just finished with a lesson and a lady had duty out on the back track ( from when it was a racing facility) and she started galloping dusty around this muddy slippery track. As she came around the corner he started slipping and I had let go of my horse (due to knowing she would go anywhere due to eating grass) and jump out telling her to pull back. Dusty had a history of taking off back to the barn and thats what I thought was going on. I asked the lady nicely if he took off she said no Bryce told her she could gallop dusty around the tract. Then I explained to her how old he was and should not be forced to run. She immediately got off and took him back to the barn and gave Bryce dusty and got her money back. After I the horse I had back in her pasture I went to the barn and told the trainer and told her it was unfair for dusty and she totally agreed. Bryce then came out of his office aggressively towards me and expressed his anger about having to give money back to the lady who was on dusty for what I did and wanted an explanation on how I was going to get that money to him. The trainer there immediately stepped in front of him and pulled her lesson money out and put it in his hand and he went back to his office. I was May be 16 at the time and I was doing what was best for the horse. He has never cared or shown care for the horses out there. They only got care by the volunteers or owners when they came out. He never did stalls unless he was training another volunteer to do the job so he didn’t have to. I feel foe those who have lost horses in his care. He should never had a horse facility he just wanted it for the shooting range and the military vehicle rides. I pray this place gets shut down and the horses that are still there get saved. I had good memories while it was still in decent shape of place. I will be thankful for the things that the trainer had taught me.
Please message me on Fb. I am taking testimonials to the media! SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE. NOW!!
I rode at Crown Haven from 2017-2019 and witnessed tons of animal abuse during my time there. The animals used for the petting zoo were seriously neglected. The rabbits only got fed once a week during pony ride night when the public was at the barn but otherwise they went unfed. When they were fed they were not given proper food they were just fed grain intended for horses. The rabbits were locked away so no one could feed them if they wanted to at other times and many rabbits died due to starvation. Whenever you held on of the rabbits you could feel every one of their ribs because they were so skinny. There were also goats that were neglected and one of them was killed by the other goats despite many people there telling Bryce to separate them so that wouldn’t happen. But he didn’t care and he let the goat get killed.
The horses were also abused and neglected in many ways. Often times stalls would go a week or more without being cleaned and horses would be standing in stalls filled with pee and poop for days. Multiples times I noticed water troughs that had very little water or were completely bone dry. Horses would often be worked for 10-12 hours a day with little to no breaks and old horses that should’ve been retired were the ones used the most. Bryce would use the same horses for pony rides, trail rides, horse rentals, and camps all in the same day. Their main horse was very arthritic and had a bad back and was very overworked.
The carriage horses were treated even worse the horses feet were never trimmed outside of carriage season. The horses hooves would be growing over their shoes due to neglect. One year during carriage season a sick horse was used and was worked 8-10 hours a day, every single day, for a month and a half. The horse was barely eating during this time and lost a ton of weight but instead of giving the horse a break and having the vet look at her Bryce made this horse pull the carriage everyday for a month and a half without having the horse seen by a vet.
Aside from all the animal abuse that occurs there there is also abuse and exploitation of the so called “volunteers”. Which keep in mind Crown Haven is a business that makes money, not a non profit, so what exactly are they doing with so many volunteers and no paid workers? When I was there the volunteers were either middle school/high school aged kids or older people who were retirement age. Bryce takes advantage of kids and older people who just want to spend some time around horses to make him all of his money. Me along with many other volunteers almost completely ran the horse camps, pony ride nights, parties, and offsite events while he just sat back and collected the money and none of us received any sort of compensation from him.
Not to mention the amount of people that have been put in danger due to Bryce’s negligence. He throws people who don’t know how to ride on a horse and sends them on their way with little to no instruction. He would also use horses that were not beginner safe for trail rides and horse rentals and put people who didn’t know how to ride on horses that were too advanced for them. He also let people do whatever they wanted on the horses when they rented them like the one time he let someone go full fledged galloping on a 30 year old horse that had no business having a rider on his back in the first place and should not have been worked that hard.
Bryce Barnes is the definition of a garbage person. He uses and abuses all of his animals and help until they die in the animals case, or with the helpers get so pissed at his mistreatment that they leave the barn. Bryce doesn’t care one bit when these things happen he just dumps the animals and gets new ones and forgets about his old help and finds new people to exploit. Everyone I’ve interacted with who has left Crown Haven has only had bad things to say about Bryce because he is a horrible person to deal with. Don’t support this horrible business that has abused animals for years.
Crown Haven Center’s Facebook page has been deleted and their Google info says they’re closed permanently but their website is still up and you can still book trail rides and pony parties along with all of the other stuff they offer. Are they just laying low hoping all of this will blow over? Hope not.
He is still open for pony rides from 5-7pm today. So no, there hasn’t been anything done yet.
I have on a very reliable source that animal cruelty charges have been filed in county clerk office.
I HOPE SO!! If not yet, they will be! I WILL NOT DROP THIS!!
My daughter took lessons at Crown Haven for a number of weeks. I know what the facts are and after reading some of the comments written here, I found the amount of embellishments and outright lies, absolutely appalling. Horse people in this area are so vicious and nasty. I will NEVER let my daughter take lessons at ANY barn EVER again because I don’t want her to be exposed to people like the ones writing posts here.
I think I speak for everyone who has shared their story on this site when I say that I’m really happy that you and your daughter had a good experience at Crown Haven Center. Horseback riding SHOULD be enjoyable and I believe you when you say that your daughter got to experience that joy. However just because you didn’t have the same experience that the rest of us had doesn’t mean that our stories are lies and embellishments. We simply were exposed to two very different sides of Crown Haven Center. I hope that your daughter continues her riding lessons at a barn that is free of cruelty, neglect and drama. In fact, it’s my hope that all of us can do that moving forward.
I always told people that you got 2 sides of crown haven. The open hours “happy “ side and the “after hours” side. You don’t see the neglect until you’re there for longer than a pony ride or trail ride.
I dont blame you for not understanding, but, with all due respect, this isn’t about gossip or drama. This is about protecting others from not only a bad business, but an animal abuser and a predator. I am not a horse person and I’ve never had a horse, though, like any normal person, I still care for animals. The owner of this facility does not care for people or animals. He uses them. He will sexually assault teenage girls, he will manipulate everyone around him according to his agenda, he will beat on any horse, his or not, to force it to make him money. This is just the very tip of the iceberg. If you’ve only met this man briefly, chances are you’ve met the charming, fake-nice version. I hope that you and your daughter are spared from HIS lies, as well as his abuse, which many have unfortunately experienced.
This is about the owner before he bought the place. He also ‘accidentally’ shot and killed his father when he was a minor.
I can fully assure you not one of these accounts on this page is false. I was there when him and his ex-wife were starting to get a divorce and I heard some things she said about him, not my place to tell. I’m so happy she made it out alive and is happy now. If you were there when his ex-girlfriend was there, she was wonderful but she left because of constant anxiety causing her heart issues. I know people from the first winter he was open that left because he starved their horses and it’s still the same song and dance. After almost 10 years of him starving horses he needs to be shut down.
Bryce wasn’t a minor when that incident happened. If you look up his father on public records, he was deceased in 2004. Which makes Bryce 25 when that happened.
Irrelevant. People who have listened to the 911 call he made after shooting his dad say that he sounded extremely calm and calculated. He was also 25 when he sexually assaulted and began grooming a 14 year old girl he met through dating her older sister. He told her “age is just a number” and not to tell anyone that they were together because “they wouldn’t understand.” He would buy her perfectly wrapped presents of clothes that were her size for her 15th birthday and Christmas. He continued to manipulate, control, and abuse her for the rest of her youth, even getting a phone card and buying her her own secret cell phone so her parents wouldn’t know he was calling her; as well as driving her hours away places to rape her, including the house he lived in on Laramie with another grown man, when she was supposed to be in school. He would assure her that the law doesn’t really say 18 years is the age of consent so it wasn’t against the law that she was under 18.
It’s definitely relevant, because that means he wasn’t just a kid who screwed up playing with a gun, that means he was a grown adult and should’ve 1000% known better.
Trust me, I’m with you on this one.
Why is he still free? 🤬
Okay, my misunderstanding. That absolutely makes sense–you’re right.
He is a terrible person. He used to chat with underage girls he met online and offer to “teach” them how to have s*x in person. I was appalled to find out he ran a business that catered to children. The animal abuse and possible murder of his own father all line up.
No surprise there. He would 100% do that to underage girls. He did it to me. I was 14. There went my childhood/youth. I’ve seen him do that to other girls when I was with him back then. People like that don’t stop doing things like that. They don’t reform. How do we keep him from ruining other girls’ lives? I’ve been asking myself that for many years now. This world is messed up.
Like what Jen said.. so glad you had a good experience at Crown Haven, and really, whatever trainer you had deserves the credit for that, not the place as a whole..
The proof is all right there. The testimonies, the pictures, the recordings, the videos. They’re not lies, and they’re not embellishments, this is what goes on there.
You didn’t have to worry about if your horse was going to go without food or water for the night. You didn’t have to worry about if the gates were closed, or if someone was going to incorrectly handle your horse. You didn’t get to watch the others, for HOURS, get neglected. Ask whatever trainer taught your daughter, because she’ll explain the same things, no doubt.
Horse people in this area aren’t viscious and nasty.. the equestrian community, those of us who really and truly care for horses, stick together, stand up for what’s right, and give voices to the animals who don’t have them. Horses are amazing animals and deserve to be treated like gold. Not like scraps.
The proof is all right here..
Just because your experience may have been good doesn’t mean it discredits everyone else’s experiences. It takes a lot of courage for some people to speak out on topics like this. You pretty much are saying that those that are telling their stories are liars and that is pretty disgusting. I think I speak for everyone when the worry should be about making sure those horses are well take care of that are at Crown Haven, no matter the differences in experiences.
To all who have spoken up against this person, to say thank you is not enough. Some of you were manipulated and some were threatened to keep quiet. So kudos to you for being brave and speaking up and fighting back. Some of us have been abused in every way by a very intelligent, very determined man. Many have been taken advantage of. Many animals have died by his hand. Prior to taking ownership of the barn and land (the bank owns it, and he just pays the overwhelming mountain of debt he fears more than anything with endless credit cards), he has had absolutely zero experience with horses or the other animals he exploits. His friends who owned the place convinced him to buy it because they all love guns, and he saw it as an opportunity to have “machine gun excursions” and show off his guns, which he has been obsessed with ever since he accidentally shot his father to death many years ago. He will bring teenage girls out back alone and show them how to shoot cool guns without their parents’ knowledge. He tried to sell the property a couple years ago with no luck, and will go any lengths to scrap every dollar. He needs all the hardworking hands he can get, and will say anything to butter someone up in order to help pay his debt, save face, and keep his machine gun dreams afloat. I could write a long book about the countless extremely not-normal big and little things he has done and ways he has wronged others. The fact that he has gone on this long, abusing this many people and animals is truly a shame, to say the least.
I find it very interesting that people are coming forward talking about how AMBER reached out to them in regards to shooting a horse for her. Now if she was so innocent then why is she asking for a horse to be shot instead of a vet putting it down if it need to be put down? Was they trying to hide something from the vets or the public?
Amber absolutely isn’t innocent in this. She claims she just let’s Bryce do his thing and run his business but if that were true then she shouldn’t be doing as much as she is. She’s the one who threatened to shoot horses, she’s the one that’s pulled the trigger most of the time, she KNEW when horses were underfed, injured, left out, or ran too hard, and did nothing about it and didn’t stand up for them. She doesn’t even live with her kids anymore, she’s got three under 12 and dumped them off on her mom so that she can live with Bryce, and thinks that’s what she can do forever. She talks awful about everyone, God forbid you’re a woman who shows up on that property because guaranteed she’s silently judging you and making silent threats about you. It’s an endless cycle of bad, and they’re both guilty.
Ooookay lmao miss thinks she knows it all. You know absolutely nothing. But hey, I do hope your mama is willing to babysit for you once that baby’s born and you have to go back to dispatch land that doesn’t exist. :] Take care, sweetie.
Actually, they’re right. Amber isn’t innocent. She even admitted to having a hunter come out onto the property to put some horses down before she started doing it herself. Likewise, whenever she’s around her kids there at the barn, she’s constantly screaming at them. It’s… not a pretty sight. Just spend some time there and listen to her. You’d hear all the stuff. Likewise, whenever approached regarding the status of the fences and condition of the stalls/pastures, she claims it isn’t going to be taken care of anytime soon as that she and Bryce are “too busy” to get to it. Not very professional or innocent.
Oh hello Amber. I don’t know why you think the previous person is me, but, since you mentioned dispatch land I assume you’re talking about me.
Not sure what baby you’re talking about, that’s rich, I’m still single, still have only ever kissed one guy one time in my entire very innocent life (yep, I’m putting that on blast, to show the ridiculousness of that comment.)
But this isn’t about that. None of these reviews are about the interpersonal drama as much as they should be centered and focused on neglect, and abuse. That’s it.
I’m sure it doesn’t feel great seeing what has been said publicly about your situation, but if you’re going to dig your own grave, at least make sure to bury it this time.
The horse abuse has got to stop. Period.
I thought we were friends at one point too. It’s a shame.
God bless your very angry soul. ♡
are you talking about Shae?! LOL
unless shes the second coming of the virgin Mary youre slap crazy
I mean look at this facility look what it’s capable of being a beautiful facility with many job opportunities but this gentleman takes away everything because he doesn’t care about anyone but himself The only reason why he has this facility is because it brings women into his life He acts like he takes care of everything in all reality he has volunteers that help just like everyone has stated has stated all The abuse is correct all the neglect is correct he doesn’t take care of anything there are many videos of him not taking care of animals and just leaving tleaving the premises of feeding and watering animals to the simple fact that no one was even taken care of and he goes in hides and his home on the premises who else would love to live on the land that they make money off of To be there every day to be able to take care of everything because you live there just mind blowing how nothing is taken care The way the place even looks to the point that I know I always weren’t even mowed when I was there Fencing would be broken down in my horse’s pasture so where I would have to go find a hammer and nail to fix it because there was never anyone there to help which they’re always there just hiding Please stick together as a team here and stop this I know that I’ve had other incidents where I’ve had to have the Indiana horse rescue involved and they really don’t do anything but people can stop things very quickly if we stick together Just like having these horses at the Highland Park let’s put a stop shit people take a look in acknowledge what is really going on with these animals do they have water when’s the last time they’ve ever had a drink how much weight can a horse actually pull how much weight is actually in this carriage what’s really think about what we’re doing to these horses it’s not about money it’s about taking care of animals.
Dear God. That was tough to read. Language Arts wasn’t your strong subject I take it?
They’re not wrong though.
Also I would love to give out my information I’m not trying to hide around anyone and I would love to show my proof 7654343972 thank you and have a blessed day
Please message me! I am collecting testimonials and taking it to the media! I am going to Leagally get this stopped!
Bill
Ok so first of all I was at this barn for years and watched everything that went on almost every single one of these story’s are far from the truth Like there are people on here complaining that they weren’t informed when a Ferrier or vet was coming even though it is the horse owners responsibility to make the appointments for the horses that needed seen and it was posted on the white board for weeks in advance with the numbers to contact the appropriate people for the appointments and if these people would have actually made an effort to come care for and see there horses they would have seen the sign ups for all appointments second of all there are people complaining about there board that they were paying for (specifically out door board) they would complain that there horses were not getting fed grain and losing wait because of that even though out door board consisted of the pasture for the horse with a run in and hay grain was the owners responsibility unless requested so the horses that were on out door board lost weight because of neglect from the owners there were owners that would bring there horses in to be boarded but after that first time they would never come out to see there horses (I could name multiple boarders who did that) third of all there are people on here claiming that they boarded there horses out here and came daily to come see them when half the time they would come out maybe once a month sometimes less there were very few people who would come out daily some boarders came out just to complain about other boarders instead of spending there time with there horses all these people that are all commenting on this website would all talk about each other when they weren’t around to whoever would listen some of these boarders wanted the bare minimum of care for there horses because the person working during the week was a transgender and when this person wasn’t around these boarders would use the incorrect pronouns and then acted friendly towards them when they were around some of these boarders even went as far as to try to find there face book to figure out there “real name” and after they were done with there job for the week the boarders would claim there horses were acting weird when some of these horses were never properly trained and they got rewarded for bad behaviors.
Hey, so.. as someone who HASN’T been at the barn for years, but was there when it was originally opened to the public, an outside eye without the political and internal boarder to boarder drama.. who cared more about the horses than anything, who can have people speak on my character;
The entire purpose of boarding a horse at a facility revolves around paying someone else to take care of your animal, and that just isn’t what would happen. Care had to be self involved. When you board your horse somewhere, and you have to work 12-24 hours shifts three days in a row to pay for said care, you shouldn’t have to worry about whether or not your horse was being supplied the necessities for care. But people were. Little water, and moldy hay. Even some of the indoor boarded horses had to be supplemented feed by the owners because they were not being fed enough. Absolutely unacceptable.
And none of that discredits the treatment, with video, audio, and picture proof, of the neglect and abuse done to the animals owned by Bryce. Horses tied to the arena for 4-7 hours at a time without water wearing tight saddles (I have proof of text messages of this happening WITH THE OWNER’S GF,) animals not receiving medical care for a month or more for major injuries (Copper’s eye,) or horses still being used after a professional told them not to use the horse to allow time for hooves to heal, or after chiropractor treatments. Elderly underfed and skinny horses carrying riders way past a capacity of weight limit, sometimes even at running speeds.
I, have a recording of the man threatening me, when the welfare of the animals was brought to attention, after he basically claimed he did not care that all of this was happening to his animals.
This has nothing to do with most of the boarders, nor the stablehand, who does his best to make sure all of the horses are taken care of on the days he works. Shame on the drama and negativity, but again, this is not about that, this is about the welfare of the animals and the inhumane treatment done to them. That’s it.
I know people who leave YEARLY due to their horses being starved. From the first winter the place was opened until now. I hear previous boarders tell people not to go there all the time. None of these accounts are fake.
You should see the hay he put up this year – it got rained on in the field, he turned it, then the square bales got rained on in the field and he let them dry in the field – can you say MOLD INFESTED HAY NOT FIT FOR CATTLE and this is what he is going to feed to the horses this winter and to boot, he didn’t even put up enough this winter, so he is going to short feed everbody.
You’re 100% correct about the vet and farrier notifications and the endless gossiping between boarders but the crown haven website states that pasture board includes PASTURE LAND FOR GRAZING (how is that possible when none of the pastures had grass?), WINTER HAY, and HORSE IS CHECKED TWICE DAILY. I suppose it doesn’t say that the owner is responsible for checking to make sure that crown haven does what they say they’ll do or that the owner will be notified if their horse loses weight due to no grass to graze on and no hay given as a replacement for the lack of grass, so maybe that’s the loophole we all missed. Shame on us! Thank you for helping us to realize that the neglect was all our fault! We all stand corrected and take back any fact we may have stated about neglected, overworked, abused and discarded animals at Crown Haven Center.
Ummm hello??? Where have you been??? The pastures specifically for pasture boarded horses also have round bale feeders in them with round bales in them all year long…….so you’re partially correct, the website IS misleading because it does clearly state “winter hay” in the offering description and the owner is feeding hay all year long….wow, he should be in shackles lmfao! You idiots who cry neglect on others yet neglect your own horses by letting other boarders tend to your horses like Jody did Redford, or by not giving them grain yourselves which is solely YOUR RESPONSIBILITY as a boarder who chose pasture board unless specifically requesting house grain to be fed as stated above by someone else. To have a life as boring and lame as yalls, having nothing but time to write lies and bullshit all day long. The luck some people have in life. Lmao.
Qanon, you clearly disagree with former boarders about the hay and feed situation, however you didn’t address the topics regarding the owner’s horses being abused for years and then shot and discarded like trash. Therefore logic tells me that you don’t deny or disagree that THOSE things happened. That’s about as lame as my life and your boyfriend’s horses.
I know I have for sure contacted people over horses weight losses out there and they still do nothing or they say they will bring out feed but they never do they want to blame someone else for them being horrible horse owners I know their borders requesting pastures that did not have grass they picked it out I know there were horse owners that just completely neglected their horses and did not care if they lost weight but since all this happened they want to attack Bryce over it shame on y’all y’all are horrible people you didn’t care about the horses weight loss when it was happening but since this happened all the suddenly y’all care y’all are fucked up and you want to talk about horse abuse I watch horse owners out there abuse the fuck out of their horses I’ve seen them put people on them that should not be on them
I went there for a trail ride one time with my son daughter and husband and I heard a border talking about how he put his dog shock collar on his horse and shocked him bragging about it actually y’all want to blame Bryce for animal abuse what is this
They’re all sound like good reasons not to go to Crown Haven Center! I know I’m steering clear of this mess!
https://www.horseforum.com/threads/e-collar-training-for-horses.543570/
It wasnt a shock collar from what Ive heard it was an E Collar which vibrates or makes a beeping sound. Its used when a horse is aggressive in the pasture with other horses and tries to bite kick or kill them. Its not abusive if done correctly and ik the person who did it was doing it to protect other horses and only used the vibrate function
I wondered when the Crown Haven people would show up to defend themselves. Man you guys don’t disappoint! You have shown your own ass here better than any of us could have done for you. And to everyone who has dealt with these people and/or wondered why it took so long for the truth to come out, here’s an article about the different ways narcissists manipulate their victims. I think you’ll recognize a few tactics that have been used on you at crown haven center.
https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/narcissism-demystified/202109/8-ways-narcissists-seek-manipulate-and-dehumanize-you
The “boarder” with the shock collar mentioned in a earlier comment was also a volunteer of the facility who aided Bryce during the Noblesville Carriage Rides. For Bryce to allow this behavior and keep said boarder as a volunteer for his facility for a long time (they’re no longer there now as Bryce got tired of all the humane-society calls regarding the boarder’s horse Leroy – pictured above by another commenter – but they were there for a long time) stands testament to Bryce’s views of “appropriate behavior.” Thus, since Bryce “owns” the facility and chooses who he specifically allows on the property, any neglected or mistreated or improperly trained horses comes right back onto Bryce as the facility is “open to the public.” All volunteers, employees, and horses on the property are a collective representation of what Bryce wants Crown Haven to represent. So, if neglect (starved horses) and violence (shock collar on a horse) is on the property, then Bryce is okay with the situation and who is causing it. If he wasn’t, neglect wouldn’t be occurring. Remember, he’s the owner.
Now, a good, reasonable barn facility owner wouldn’t allow ANY form of neglect on their property and would be much more selective about the people they want influencing the youth of today. Last I knew, the only employee he had was the Monday-Thursday person who done a good job feeding. That person was reliable and helped keep an eye on the horse’s welfare. They even texted me a couple of times regarding my own horse which I liked. However, the Friday-Sunday Bryce and Amber crew when Bryce doesn’t have anyone employed for these days, have let horses starve. The Friday-Sunday employees they bring in have a high turn-over rate and it’s hard for them to keep someone employed for these days. Unfortunately, for these situations Bryce don’t make plans on how to provide the agreed upon care for the horses which includes water for the pasture horses, feed and water for the stall horses, and daily stall cleaning When the care falls back onto Bryce specifically, horses go without water, without feed, and without being checked on twice daily. This is what angers so many people. Their horses going three days starved and dehydrated and four days fed and watered. I’ve helped water pasture boarded horses and helped keep an eye on other boarded horses while there, too.
A responsible barn owner stays in communication and upholds their end of the deal even when it’s rough (or at least communicates when they’re unable to). A responsible barn owner doesn’t condone harassment or neglect to the horses located on the property. A responsible barn owner communicates with the boarders when a situation occurs. A responsible barn owner seeks veterinary care for their own animals without letting them die from neglect. A responsible trail guide and horse rental professional informs and prepares the public for the trail ride, lease, or rental prior to the service before pairing them with the horse best suited to the person’s needs and experiences. A responsible barn owner would love the horses, adequately train and care for their own, and want to share that world with others. Bryce, however, is never around, never cares about his horses hooves or ailments, and never “teaches” the public anything about them other than “pull, pull, pull” on the reins for left, right, and stop.
To further explain his lack of empathy for the horses, he still uses Rhapsody with white-line disease on hard/rough trails for the public and even let her compete in a show earlier this year, he used a horse named Katy with swollen legs and DSLD until her last living day before taking her back and shooting her in the head as “she could barely walk on the trail” earlier this year, still uses a 30yrs+ horse named Ellie Mae with a saddle sore on her withers every single day anyone wants to come to the facility and ride without letting her have time-off or let her sore heal from the ill-fitting saddle, and his draft horses go without adequate feed. Above, a commenter posted a picture of when Bryce purchased Onyx and what he became after being in his care for less than a year. Visitors can go out and see him for themself. He’s located in the very back pasture of the facility behind where he keeps the belgian drafts and Fiona. Compare his draft horses to a performance draft barn and you’d weep at how neglected Bryce’s prized carriage horses are.
That’s not the horse that’s had the shock collar put on it it was a middle aged man and his horse was white it’s name was luke or something like that so plz don’t chime in if you don’t know horse it was
Either way, thanks for the correction. It still doesn’t change the situation of how Bryce allowed that to occur on his property. I know there was a white horse on the property named “Duke” so that is probably the one you’re referring to – I know the owner of the horse Leroy used to ride him with permission, so it doesn’t surprise me.
I hope all of you are happy with your sick selves. This abuser is now open for business again. Google shows that he is open. and his Facebook page is back up and running.
Nothing has changed. Everything has been swept under the rug.
The powers that be don’t care about the abuse, and Bryce’s law enforcement friends have again shielded him from any charges that could have been brought against him.
Shame on the Kokomo community.
I agree 1000%
This is my story. For the duration of time I spent over there. Long read but worth it. Pictures are of Ellie Mae.
A little over 2 years ago was when I first went out to Crown Haven with a friend of mine. She was leasing a horse that should not have been leased (Ellie Mae). She was extremely skinny and was used more than she was supposed to be under the lease as well. The person leasing her was feeding her grain daily to try getting her to gain some weight, as well as applying cream to saddle sores from ill fitting saddles.
I volunteered to help with a birthday party that Bryce asked me to help with. It was a decent drive away, about 2hrs. I was the only person present that knew anything about horses or anything. A kid went to step on the stirrup and the saddle fell to Ellie Mae’s side (Bryce had tried to saddle). The saddle was not cinched properly what so ever. I had to re-saddle her as best I could with an ill fitting saddle, as well as her saddle sores. There were even people riding double on Ellie Mae. During the duration of us being there, we were not allowed to offer her hay, grass, or water. We had taken 2 goats with us as well and Bryce just handed them off to kids where they were dragged around. As for the baby bunnies we took, they were passed around like rag dolls. We spent HOURS there before making the 2 hr drive home. At no point were any of the animals given water.
I went over A LOT to ride with someone who boarded horses there. As far as hay goes, I wouldn’t feed that to cattle. They spread poop next to it/on it. It’s never covered for weather. They are pushed up against each other so not only does the middle mold, but the sides and tops do too from stacking. As far as horses “being fed round bales in round bale feeders year round” a boarder had to learn to drive the tractor because Bryce did NOT feed them! If this boarder did not put hay into their own pasture as well as others, even Bryce’s horses’ pastures, they would’ve completely starved. Shoot, even the horses shot were placed on the edge of one of the hayfields, so I would consider any hay from that area contaminated. For the watering situation, 90% of the time the troughs where gross and slimy or completely bone dry. The troughs were never even remotely decent (unless a border went and took pity on the horses and cleaned the troughs.)
As for the dead horses, on multiple occasions I went over and would ask where such and such horse went, when I had just seen them a few days prior, only to find out they were shot and killed. I actually saw the dead horses unburied with my own two eyes. The smell was terrible. So bad it made the horses ridden near it uncomfortable, they could smell the death. The butterflies were everywhere bc they where eating the horses as well as flies (sorry if that is disturbing to some.) The noise from all of the flies was so loud you could hear it from more than 15ft away.
As far as horses being used for trail rides. The horses would be tacked and bridled even after the trail ride was over. They were then tied to the wall in the arena to sit there all day and wait to “see if there would be anyone else booking a trail ride that day” <- Bryce’s words. More than half the time he and his girlfriend, whatever girl it might’ve been at that time (hard to keep track) would leave the property while the horses were still tied and tacked up. They were not given water or food during this duration. The only way they were untied and untacked was by boarders that felt bad for them.
As far as the health of his horses. Whenever he got a new horse they would arrive (most of the time alive and not laying down in the trailer for hours,) in great condition, and then under Bryce’s “care,” if you want to call it that, lost a crap ton of weight. Some lost so much weight they couldn’t stand. As for the horse I’m talking about that arrived laying down in the trailer, Bryce stated that he knew the horse fell and that he just did not want to stop to deal with the situation. The trailer ride was long, and the horse was down long enough that it ended up being put down for a spinal injury. Hoof care was not a priority to him what so ever. People leasing would have to ask multiple times to have hooves trimmed because they were so bad. When I offered to purchase Toby off of him for whatever price he was asking for, he instantly blocked me.
As far as his current girlfriend. She at one point told people that she would “slit her throat and let her bleed out," about me, as well as calling me a “busted can of biscuits”. She said all of this because I wore leggings instead of jeans well over a year ago (before her and Bryce were even together) to the barn to ride. I’m still considering filing a threat/harassment police report against her for this.
As for the chickens, bunnies, cat, and goats, a boarder had to feed and take care of those animals. Bryce did not feed them, the boarder did. He even took feed from a boarder and put it into his own feed gumball machine. He was profiting off of the feed this boarder was purchasing. There was a do not feed hay sign on the goat's pen too.
As far as stable amenities. The wash rack inside could never be used because he wouldn’t call to get it cleaned out and/or wouldn’t take the time to do it himself.
I remember saddling in the area one day and Bryce was working on a mower on the other side of the wall, he had the muffler and everything off of it. Well let’s just say I was glad I was not riding yet and glad I had the saddle tight enough not to slip off the horse because he decided to start this mower inside the metal barn on the other side of the arena wall. With zero warning!!!!! It sounded like huge guns going off crossed with a motorcycle backfiring. And he continued to do this for 20 minutes or so.
Last week criminal charges for animal cruelty were filed in Howard County clerk’s office against the owner.
If convicted it’s only a misdemeanor, however a second occurrence (which WILL happen is felony charge.
At any rate CH is ruined. No one in their right mind will go there for anything.
Have you heard anything more regarding the charges?
I am trying to get testimonials together to file a report and take it to the media!
I have spent hours trying to find proof that charges were actually filed. I can’t find anything…
I’m attaching a screenshot of the Howard County Sheriff Dept’s report. I believe the horses were scored around a 2.7 on the body condition scale and anything 2 or over is considered acceptable in the state of Indiana. THAT LAW NEEDS TO CHANGE. I’m also attaching an example horse who is a 2 on the body condition scale. Does this horse look healthy enough to haul full grown adults on trails all day long? I don’t think so.
.
Last I knew, Crown Haven was selling their new pony Fiona for $4500. It appears close to a month since anyone really commented on here. Does anyone have any updates regarding the situations or the horses left at CH? Per Google, it still says the place is “open.”
Has anyone heard anything on him or anything else involving him? Crown Haven’s Facebook page is gone AGAIN, and I can find his Facebook if I go through Amber’s. Plus I can’t find the criminal charges for animal cruelty that were filed. Maybe I’m just not smart enough to find them.
Ok, so turns out he blocked me, and my fiance from seeing Crown Havens Facebook page. So it is still up and running for everyone except for people he doesn’t like lol
I had the exact same experience with my daughter and 2 granddaughters this summer! Same attitude, same situation. I have ridden all my life but neither of the girls or my daughter have ever ridden. My daughter told Amber how scared they were and yet t she just left us in the arena alone. I posted on their fb page and called and left messages for Bryce to call me since I could not find anyone else there to talk to. I never got a response or a phone call, so I went out there and Bryce was so condescending and rude. I did not know about all of the animal abuse until recently. I’m just sick. I want to do something to stop this.. i will do something. I am retired now,, so I have plenty of time!

It is very sad that everyone has given up, the management of this place is disguising. We thought there was some hope coming with that new big guy cleaning and fixing minor things but nothing has happened. There is a dog there that can be heard crying and it is being starved, locked in a blacked out horse stall. Ellie Mae is still there and dying, breaking my heart to see her. There are new borders coming in and going out, the cycle continues. I cant believe that place is allowed to continue. The one border was there less than a month and pulled her horse because of the stall conditions. She was told it was the employees that didn’t show up but the board clearly stated they were off. Another just left. Somehow Mr. Barnes still seems to continue to sell his services and fill his bank account with prepaid services when the borders leave and he refuses to refund the money.
Let’s talk about Amber Washington shall we? One of the most delusional, manipulative, sociopathic people, I have EVER met. She makes posts all the time about how she hates the horse community when she’s a part of it. She trashes on other people for the very same thing she did, and does. Don’t think she’s talking about you behind your back? She is. Don’t think she’s a hypocritical monster who makes up lies to make herself feel better? She does. She likes to make posts about these so called haters that won’t say things directly to her, when I promise, they aren’t haters, they’re truth speakers, and the only reason they aren’t saying anything directly to her, is because she blocks them. She helped starve horses, she helped kill horses, and when anyone confronts her about it, she flips the script, acts like that’s never happened, calls it a lie, but never fully addresses it. Really? Posting about the Miami County horse show then making a comment about how despicable it is? And these so called lies? DO YOU NOT SEE THE PICTURE PROOF IN ALL OF THESE WITNESS ACCOUNTS AND PHOTOS? How are you that blind?! Elle looked SO BAD, and you still put GROWN MEN ON HER. I’m beside myself in shock. Also, kids are getting horseback riding lessons from her. Which is even more distressing, because she can’t be trusted with any child, on any horse, and, has ZERO clue what she’s talking about when it comes to riding and teaching. It’s scary. It’s still going on. As someone who’s witness shit recently, I wouldn’t trust her. She will look you in the eye, lie to your face, and publicly slander you behind your back, despite it all. Maybe she should actually follow the Jesus posts she reshares. Fun fact. You can’t love Jesus and hate His people.
I will say, good for Crown Haven for feeding their horses finally.
I will also say, the owner is losing business now more so because his girlfriend can’t keep her mouth closed and insists on hating everyone, holding zero accountability, and constantly playing the victim when she is always the aggressor.
Come on, grow up. It’s time to stop being 12 years old.
Thanks.
-K.
Bryce and Amber are selling the property and will relinquish it to the new owners in March. They’re selling all their current horses. From what I have heard, they will no longer work with horses. We can only pray that’s true!
They also did not have the common courtesy and business ethics to tell their boarders they sold the place. The boarders literally found out by the new owner calling each one of them and telling them. Bad business practice
